30th January, the day Oliver Cromwell, the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England is ritually executed

Games Played:

On this day in 1661, Oliver Cromwell, the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England was ritually executed. I say ritually, because he had actually been dead for two years. Rather apt, given what’s happening tomorrow. I wonder who history will regard as the ‘Oliver Cromwell’ of Brexit. The field of candidates is rather large, but as they say, history is written by the victors.

Another good turnout. Again, with new people who all spent the evening with smiles on their faces. If this continues, we will have to think seriously about buying more tables as well as negotiation for more space at the Old Finchleians. A good problem to have and long may it continue.

I have to mention ‘So Long My World’. A controversial game that is just so beautiful to look at.
