Data from BoardGameGeek
Players struggle to survive the Stone Age by working as hunters, collectors, farmers, and tool makers. As you gather resources and raise animals, you work to build the tools needed to build your civilization.

Players use up to 10 tribe members each in 3 phases. In the first phase, players place their men in regions of the board that they think will benefit them, including the hunt, the trading center, or the quarry. In the second phase, the starting player activates each of his staffed areas in whatever sequence he chooses, followed in turn by the other players. In the third phase, players must have enough food available to feed their populations, or they face losing resources or points.

Excellent; multi paths to victory and you need to both think ahead and keep an eye on what your opponents are up to. I have won (153pts) with a no tool 5 original meeples strategy, a heavy tools effort, seen a maxi meeple and mixed strategies all work. You must and can adapt to circumstances and it remains unclear who will triumph if all are up to speed. Fast, simple and superb. Dropped a half point after a couple of dozen more plays (NB I don't generally log plays), because I don't feel there is real depth or much direct interaction.

My favourite 'light' game and one I always return to. This is fun whether I'm playing with a group of dedicated gamers or a group who are new to the hobby.

Two House rules make this game 9.5 (without them the game drops to 7) We like to play with a few rule changes to make the game a bit more competitive. Which makes it a 9.5 !
