Hi Dan,
If you are intent on running this game, the best way to do so is to place it on the calendar with a short description, and I'm sure anyone interested will sign up.
Alternatively, if you have a one-session taster, there is an RPG Showcase coming up, and these are meant to give GMs that are new to the club an opportunity to run games - and if it goes down well, it would be easier to find players.
Good luck
Gary
Not really 'intent' on running it, just wanted to gauge interest so that I wouldn't be wasting my time.
Thanks for directing me to the calendar, I will do it that way. (Or not)
cheers,
Dan
Hi Dan,
If you wanted to run it at the next RPG showcase night I'd be interested in playing. It's one of those games I've always been curious about. I'm already signed up to other rpgs for the next few months so I might not be able to commit to a longer-term campaign if that's what you were planning, but I'd like to give it a go.
As you can see, the club website is great, but a lot of members don't seem to use it so it can be difficult to guage interest for a game online. The only real way to guage interest in a new game is to schedule the game on the calendar and then turn up to run it (but I'll say no more lest I provoke another one of those discussions).
Thanks Oliver, that's great advice and I will definitely go about it that way!
All clubs have theiur idiosyncracies eh? (I've been a member of the Titans wargames club and they always arrange games via the forum, so I made a bit of an assumption that was the system here too..)
cheers
Oki, highly probable this is a stupid question..... but.... what is warhammer quest?
Dan
As a well seasoned hack at FGC, I'd say that although guaging interest on the forums is a nice idea in theory, in practice the members are a bit cagey about committing to games almost until the last minute (unless you say you're running D&D and then they will beat a path to your door).
Our Showcase night is ideal to try things and spark interest and do use it as a springboard for any future games. As luck would have it, the next night is in need for a game to be run so you're bound to find players.
Well Emma it's a sort of roleplay/boardgame hybrid, set in the Games Workshop universe in which each player plays a character and embarks on a sort of dungeon crawl adventure. It can either be played as a simple card based system without a GM or played more complex very much like D&D or Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (Although not as complex as either of those). Miniatures are used on printed floorplans, a d6 system very similar to other GW games. It has it's own style which favours fun and heroic play over tactical gaming.
Stick it on the calendar and then people can sign up. 5th of April looks like a good option?

Anyone? Richard said he was game. I'd run it as a sort of roleplay, and have the figures and supplements.
