There were a few, but then they dried up.
No reason why people can't write more.... :)
Last year, Ben (I think) asked people for their games of the year and lots of people responded. I think we should do that again.
BTW, there aren't that many rules. Broadly speaking they are:
1. No physical violence or personal abuse towards members.
2. No CCG card trading at the bar.
3. Don't do anything that will bring the club into disrepute (a catch-all category that has included taking money from the club to run a convention game and then not run it or starting a fight with Geoff or another member of the Old Finchleians. There may have to be a new rule about website etiquette).
4. There used to be a no table limit rule (especially with RPGs) but that's now gone.
And that's basically it. Of course, there are the 5000 rules of Geoff but they aren't, technically, FGC rules.
Is this canon? I mean, where are these written down? This is exactly what I mean about no-one knowing about the "rules". Almost all the current RPG players have been at the club less than three years, and I would be certain that none of them (me included) have any idea of these club rules, nor have any of them been pointed out.
I'm pretty sure that the only thing anyone gets any briefing on is how the bar works.
The only reason I ask was in case there was some code of practice about not having negative reviews.
Gary, you are not missing any rules.
The FGC committee does not believe in too many rules and the ones we have are based on common sense.
Many temporary rules are implemented to cope with specific circumstances, like limiting tables for each group (board game, CCG and RPG) when loads of people start turning up on a regular basis.
All such implementations are clearly stated and repeated as necessary. I’m not aware of any such in place at the moment. If you have a question then that is what the FGC committee is for ....
I agree about there not being enough game reviews, but people can write anything provided it’s what they really think and it’s ‘reasonable’ (no profanity, libel etc).
We have in the past removed ‘advertising’ reviews in the past – mainly because they were just placed on the site without the courtesy of asking us first.

Yeah, what Ian said. We've never been a rules heavy club and no violence, abuse, try not to piss off Geoff or rip off the club are easy to implement without having them written down. I was club secretary for 2 years and I have those rules written down somewhere in my copious amount of boxes and they were the rules I inherited from my predecessor and I handed down to my successor with only the "no CCG card trading at the bar" being added in over a decade until the table limit rule of this year.

Is there a reason that there are no product reviews on this site? Is it another one of the FGC rules that everyone is supposed to know? I'd like to read some "local" ones as I have become completely disillusioned with BGG reviews.
